Mansion at Natirar Wedding

Lauren and Tommy were a couple who knew what they wanted and that was clear the first time we spoke. They had a vision for the music they wanted played at their reception and I was there to guide them so they got exactly what they wanted. I loved what they chose and their guests did too. Read on to see how we pulled off a really fun and beautiful Mansion at Natirar wedding.
For their venue they chose The Mansion at Natirar in Peapack, NJ which was recently renovated and looks amazing. I recommend it for anyone getting married in the area. And although I am known as a Brooklyn wedding DJ, I am happy to DJ anywhere in the northeast and beyond.
I had three separate sound systems set up for them. They had their ceremony outside behind the venue on top of a hill with a beautiful view. It was really something. The ceremony started with their friend playing violin while guests were seated. He had sent me backing tracks to play for the processional and recessional songs that he played violin over. I also provided a mic for the officiant. It all sounded great.
Before the ceremony their officiant (also one of their friends) came up to me and made a funny request. She said she was going to say "And I'd like to start the ceremony off with a little freestyle rap" and asked if I could play some hip-hop beats and then she would be like "just joking!" This is one of those requests where I was like "do you have permission to do this?" Well, she didn't, but we did it anyway and everyone cracked up and got a kick out of it including the couple. I played the intro beats from "Empire State of Mind" if you were wondering...
After the ceremony we went inside to a room right outside the main reception room for cocktail hour to really start this Mansion at Natirar wedding. We had curated a great playlist for this time which included Frank Ocean, Pharrell and Childish Gambino. Guests nodded their heads to the music while having drinks and snacking on hors d'oeuvres. After the cocktail hour, guests passed a live painter on their way in for dinner. She was there painting when I arrived to set up.
Once the guests were seated, Lauren and Tommy did their first dance to a custom edit (by Tommy) of "Celebration" by Kanye West. Great song and very cool. Afterwards they did a joint parents dance to "The Wonder of You" by the Villagers. The toasts followed right after the dances and I had a great wireless mic that everyone used. They sounded great.
If you haven't figured it out yet, Lauren and Tommy are big hip-hop fans and that's what we played for their dance set. We came up with a custom mix of Drake, Beyonce, Jay Z, and many more, that was really fun. We had the guests on their feet until the end of the night.

My partner and I consider ourselves to be quite particular as we were very specific about the music we wanted at our wedding (nothing cheesy, mostly hip-hop). Ben was prompt and professional in our communication throughout the process and really listened to what we asked for. The day of the wedding, he truly delivered- he was prepared, set up without any issue, proactive in arranging with the violinist as well as the officiant for the ceremony, and most of all, gave us the best set we could ever imagined in the reception. As people pleasers, he was kind and honest about what the newlyweds should want (not what the attendees want) and I truly appreciated that and truly enjoyed dancing nonstop at my own wedding.
